It is not the infamous bench you have known in last few years. It has nothing has to do with of IT. I am talking about the Taka bench. I do not know why it is called by this name but there must be a story for sure behind this. Let me introduce you to taka bench, they are placed near the Church on Ridge Maidan in Shimla. Yes, they are historic and colonial in nature.
Taka bench symbolizes the life and culture of shimla. If I say shimla is the Leisure City, than you should surely enjou sitting on these benches. Life seems to move in front of your eyes slowly and it seems everything is in standstill.
Hmm, I am bad at narrating but If you have seen Kareeb the movie, I am talking about the same bench on which Shammi Uncle sat and conned Bobby. Assuming the present generation seen love in Shimla will be a suicide.
Coming back to the bench, it symbolizes something which is inherent to all of us. It is there for all and in every season, but only few enjoys it. Rest use to catch up some breath or may be filler. But the one, who have understood the meaning of life, observes it from there. I had seen school kids to old chaps using it, in all the variation possible.
The bench you all know is quite opposite of the bench I know. Mine, relax you, yours make you tense. Mine make you patient, yours make you restless. Mine is in open air with loads of freedom and life in hand, yours is like a black box, more a retention center.
Whoever planned the concept of bench had this thing in mind, that it should be a place to relax rather than burden you. I think when IT Company had so many benches they should start spending here also and make them a pleasant place.
Who will mind a bench in a park with all the assurance of life’s and watch his life pass by in leisure. But who trades in bench do not have such plans……..
